PATRICK SMITH

Leadership

If I could be a rock star, it would be Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. The dude is just badass. Since I’m not, I’m an amateur triathlete. I’ve completed 2 full IRONMAN races and several half’s. I don’t use it anymore, but hidden talent is that I’m a professional auctioneer. Like most, family is at the center of my universe. Our favorite place is the beach where everyone unplugs. We boat, we cook, and just catch up on life. Our business is a major center in my life- I can best sum it up as good people delivering good work to good people.

Warren Buffett- Buffett is an icon of American business who embodies the success that you can achieve by dedicating yourself to what you are passionate about. I love to instill this value into our business- everyone here works hard but they are driven by passion.

I make memories and memorable experiences, lift weights and expectations, and never settle for anything less than what I was raised to be. I wrote for a newspaper before transitioning my path online, having since worked with a few companies you’ve probably never heard of — Marvel, Star Wars, Hasbro, and the like. I get involved and stay involved in the projects I work on, and I never take my eye off the prize. I pride myself on being a driven and innovative individual.

Elon Musk- To label Musk an innovator would be selling the man short. Truly one of the most creative, disruptive minds of our time, Musk is the antithesis of status-quo. He’s a warlord against mediocrity, fiend of ensconcement, and a bulldozer of impossibility.

I’m a classic Gemini – good at communication, challenges and problem solving, and I’m always trying to learn new things. I’m originally from Asheville and I love the mountains- not to mention the non-humid climate! The most important things in my life are my family and friends. As far as I’m concerned, the only way to live a fulfilled life is spending your days laughing. I love goofing off with the people I love, singing and dancing, and throwing myself into every project that comes my way.

Beyonce- She’s an icon, a business woman, and an artist who emphasizes feminism and self acceptance. She’s living proof that you can work in an industry that focuses on physical appearance while still empowering women to be themselves.

I’m an original North Carolinian who has never lived outside of the same 200 mile stretch of I-40- which isn’t to say I don’t like to visit other places! If I could have any superpower it would be to snap my fingers and be anywhere in the world. I love to see new things, but I’m impatient, which definitely makes traveling a pain. Despite my wanderlust, I love being a part of this community. The people around me help mold me and continue to challenge me, from long time family and friends to the new coworkers that I’ve only known for a year. They make me happy, so I guess I owe my happiness to them.

Amelia Earhart: She is symbolic for the power that women have. I want to be someone that doesn’t listen to the nay-sayers, someone who chooses to do what makes me happy, a woman that people can look up to.

KELLY DUNVILLE

Creative

A forever Carolina girl, I am a former teacher turned graphic designer.  I have a passion not only for expressing my own creativity, but for encouraging others to find theirs. I love bringing ideas to life, taking a vision and creating a reality. I absolutely LOVE Halloween and YES, it is a holiday. which is great because it combines my love for chocolate and my secret talent for crafting costumes. My first costume contest award was in 6th grade — my mom made me into a remote control out of a trash bag!

JK Rowling- JK Rowling is someone who truly inspires me to push the bounds of my creative mind. She loses herself in the world she creates with genuine artistry. She doesn’t just imagine new things, she designs universes that ignite emotional attachment. Her command of detail and drive to revise makes her work more than just a good story. JK Rowling once said “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” I choose to be a person who continues to live and create with limitless passion.

I moved to North Carolina from Boston in 2017, and I’ll never be used to hearing “y’all” in every sentence instead of “wicked”. I’m a super sarcastic, coffee-addicted, former Division 1 swimmer. If you ask me what my favorite thing to do is, it’s a tie between scuba diving and reading. I like to think of myself as a chic geek- I wear leather jackets, heels, and makeup and I read Robert Louis Stevenson while doing it. Or Dickens, depending on my mood. As far as I’m concerned, you can never read enough books in a lifetime.

Audrey Hepburn- Audrey embodies the strength and multi-faceted nature of women. She was an actress, World War II activist (in spite of her parents’ political views), a relief worker, and all around her own person. She never let other people define who she was or what she could do.

BRENT CLARK

I grew up on an old tobacco farm in Lizard Lick, North Carolina where I developed a passion for the outdoors, photography, and exploration.  Now I photograph everything from Nascar races, to white water rafting, and TV stars.  When I’m not busy taking photos and shooting video you just might find me wrestling with my Beagahua (Chihuahua/Beagle mix), cooking Bibimbap, or watching Game of Thrones- sometimes all at once.  Oh, and don’t touch my burger!

Ansel Adam’s-  Ansel Adams the great photographer and environmentalist once said, “A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words.”  He understood the power of photography and honed it’s techniques to affect the way generations of people thought about the natural world and conservation.

I spend most of my time doing one of two things: playing music or working on computers. I love working with technology, but I am definitely a people person! My favorite aspect of my job is talking to business owners and understanding exactly what they need to develop their business and enhance their creativity. While music is by far my favorite form of expression, I love how digital marketing allows people to express themselves in a whole new way.

Stan Lee- As a former (or possibly current) comic book nerd, I have a huge amount of respect for Stan Lee as an artist. He takes the simplest attributes of his characters and morphs them into their greatest strengths. His characters are legendary not only because he turns weakness into greatness, but his outlook for the future is breathtaking. I love that he sees the world as a place where someone can succeed, against all odds.
